Submitting your Anchor RSS Feed to Podcast Apps

Submitting your Anchor RSS Feed to Podcast Apps and Why It's Important You Do This Yourself

Anchor has been rising slowly to become a contending player in the podcast space. There's no denying it. Many well-known personalities are now using it to easily create their podcasts. Although I don't recommend them as a hosting company for a number of reasons, there is one major thing to be aware of if you're using them for your podcast:

How to Submit Your Anchor RSS Feed to Podcast Players Yourself

YOU should be the one to submit your show to podcast apps.

Even though Anchor makes it simple to let them do it for you, I really recommend this is something you should do yourself, especially if you want access to your podcast stats from Apple Podcasts. I go into more detail about this in the video below.

This should be done when you are uploading your very first episode to Anchor . Once you have opted to let Anchor submit your podcast for you, you cannot go back or submit it yourself.

If you haven't started your podcast yet and are looking for alternatives to Anchor, I recommend Libsyn, Podbean, or Blubrry for hosting.

These companies allow you to have complete control of your RSS feed, and you have much more control over aspects, like your Author tag (Anchor adds their own branding to that). But if you are truly set on using Anchor or if you are just starting to dabble in podcasting and using Anchor as a testing ground, these tips will help get you off to a good start.

You can always migrate to another podcast hosting company should you decide to upgrade.

I'll be interested to see what Anchor has in store, especially if the free model continues.
